Lost 2 kgs

From feasting to fasting - it took roughly 20 days to get back to almost original shape, still losing some more weight, and jump back to my previous health status. After a rejoicing winter that passed by which was mostly a sedentary, lazy and laid back life full of stuffing and feeding myself with fat based rich food items, I am seeing a season of birds, flowers, greenery coming to life everywhere which directly affects my diet too. Fat intake reduced to amazing levels as the intake of fresh fruits, vegetables along with dry fruits have increased. Definitely a good sign from the mother nature who really knows how to balance everything including the varying effects she has on we human's body, mind and spirit.
The sun is also shining brilliantly high in the sky and it is also involved in the conspiracy of working wonders for a good health. Looks like whatever fat I accumulated during the winter time to keep myself warm is getting melted away by the sun's rays as I come in contact with it more and more. I know, it is not as easy a process as photosynthesis  where sunlight falling on the green leaves releases food and oxygen but definitely the sun rays, which impart Vitamin D to our skin, has special function in our food digestion and daily activity too. Now, if I get deeper into it I would rather look like a doctor preaching. All, I want to say is that I am wondering at the nature's contribution in maintaining  a healthy life for us. Health is Wealth and some of these wealth is well-hidden and preserved in the nature. We just need to explore it.
Stay tuned for more such updates that emerge from my vision and perspectives.

Biologically what happens?
During the winter time, the sun's rays hardly reach we poor humans and vegetation on earth.
As a result, the plants who are dependent on the sun get lesser and lesser exposure to the light. Hence, they produce lesser oxygen (a by - product of photosynthesis) when they combine sunlight with water and carbon di oxide for food. We humans are symbiotically dependent on plants as plants need carbon di oxide from us ( and other sources as well, one of the sources being its own self as they produce carbondioxide in the night) that we exhale and we need oxygen from them that we inhale. So, if the plants are manufacturing oxygen from the sun rays this means that indirectly we are also dependent on sun for our oxygen supply. So if the plants manufacture less oxygen in the absence of sun rays, winter time will almost mean less oxygen time as the sun stays far away from us. Oxygen is used by our body to burn the food and release energy. Therefore the more the oxygen intake the higher the burning of food and higher the energy released and this automatically means more activeness and good health. On the other hand, less oxygen supply will lead to fat getting accumulated in the body as excess food, if not burnt by the oxygen and released as energy, will be stored as fat and hence give way to laziness and lethargy. Sun's rays gives us ultraviolet B that is converted to Vitamin D by our skin which helps in the absorption of calcium. So we saw our direct dependency on vegetation and direct and indirect dependency on the sunlight. That's the reason why as the Spring season approaches, the weather becomes beautiful and everywhere there is greenery and flowers as the natures gains activeness with the process of maintaining oxygen levels that brings life to all.
Lesson that we must learn from this is that lets not cut down plants and trees. They are a vital part of human life.

At the same time, some demerits of vegetation is in its contribution in Global warming along with the others in the list. During the night time, the trees and plants produce huge amount of carbon di oxide in the environment. Also, a problem in the areas near water bodies where proper balance in oxygen amounts is not maintained.

Holi Hai

It's Holi day today, definitely a Holy day and  a Holiday.
People are enjoying on the streets with containers filled with liquid colors i.e colors mixed in water that they use in throwing at each other. This gives them a sense of elation specially to the kids and teenagers who find a great deal of happiness in celebrating this festival of colors. Music and dance has captured the surroundings as people perform without any training, dancing and singing the way they want to, with all carelessness and casualness.
In the evening time, the adults are more actively involved in this special occasion of coloring each other with abir , a form of harmless dry color.
All kinds of eatables are not behind in these fun loving moments. Ladies at home usually prepare a number of tasty and mouth watering dishes that circulate among friends, neighbors and family on the special eve of Holi.
So celebrate the wonderful day of Holi happily and gleefully. Happy Holi to all.

Jamshedpur: That the information technology boom is truly on can be gauged not only from the prices of the `new economy' stocks but also from the hectic campus selections being conducted at the engineering and other institutions in the country by software companies of all sizes, including the leading names. And some of the 17 regional engineering colleges (RECs) in the country have become favourite visiting spots of these companies in the last two years.
Of the 10 companies who have so far either visited or are scheduled to visit the Regional Institute of Technology (RIT), Jamshedpur, nine are software companies, which include leading names like Satyam Computers, Wipro, Infosys, Patni Computer Servives (PCS), BPL Software, among others.
And foreign IT companies are not much behind in the race for picking up candidates. Cyprus-based Amdocs and US-based Cadence have approached the RIT for their needs. While the former has selected 15 candidates, the latter is in the process of vetting the right candidates from the 34 curriculum vitae forwarded to them.
According to R Yadav, principal of the Regional Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, "The RECs have become a hunting ground for the companies as most students of the IITs are taking assignments abroad. Earlier, the RECs were only a second line of defence".
Said NK Narain, professor in-charge, training and placement at the RIT here on Friday to The Financial Express, some of the leading names in the Indian IT scene, like Satyam Computers, Wipro, Infosys have already visited the institution since August 4 last when the placements took off officially.Of the 214 candidates eligible for placements this year - a first class in any of the disciplines offered like BE, MCA or M Tech has been fixed as a minimum by the institution - 84 have till date already been placed. The remaining are expected to be placed by September-end.
Amdocs, a Cyprus-based software company, a first-timer for placements here, visited the campus as early as May last to pick up around 15 candidates from BE (computer science) and MCA students. The company offered each of the newly appointed software engineers an annual package of around Rs 11 lakh.Satyam Computers, Wipro and Infosys picked up 25, 12 and 17 candidates respectively, the difference being that while the first two picked up candidates from among BE (electronics/electrical/computer science), Infosys scanned students of all the engineering disciplines for their haul of 17.
Also, while all the three have offered an annual package of Rs 2.10 lakh to those selected, Infosys has so far been the only one to offer the added carrot of stock option to their selections. BFL Software and Kanbay Software have offered their pick of seven and 10 candidates annual packages of Rs 2.70 lakh and Rs 1.80 lakh respectively.
Even lesser known IT companies like Syntel Software, Infornic Software etc are queuing up for recruitment at these campuses.Asked why the software companies were interested in picking up candidates from regional engineering colleges, Narain said, "Today more emphasis is being given on computer application in almost all disciplines of engineering". "As an example", he said, "the BE (metallurgy) syllabus today includes a subject like CAM (computer application in metallurgy); it is likewise in al other disciplines of engineering".
